Fast Track Cymru Bulletin – April 2026

Dear Fast Track Cymru Friends, Partners and Supporters,
We’re pleased to share two important updates that mark real progress for HIV support and prevention across Wales.

Job opportunities - Peer Support Expansion Across Wales

We are incredibly proud to be supporting Positively UK as they roll out dedicated peer support services across Wales. This is a significant and long-awaited step forward, ensuring that people living with HIV can access meaningful, community-led support wherever they are in the country.

As part of this work, Positively UK are currently recruiting two part-time Peer Support Workers – one covering North Wales and one covering South Wales. There is also the opportunity for a single applicant to take on a pan-Wales role for those able and willing to travel.

Peer support is transformative. It connects people through shared lived experience, reduces isolation, and strengthens wellbeing. We are honoured to have been asked to support Positively UK in delivering this vital project and to help bring this much-needed provision to Wales.

A Manifesto to End HIV Transmission in Wales

We are also delighted to have collaborated with National AIDS Trust and Terrence Higgins Trust on a joint HIV manifesto for Wales.

Together, we are calling on the next Welsh Government to seize a historic opportunity: to end new HIV transmissions by 2030. Wales has already demonstrated global innovation by becoming the world’s first Fast Track Nation. Now, we have the tools, partnerships and knowledge to go even further.

With the 2026 Senedd election taking place on 7 May 2026, this is a critical moment. There is just one Senedd term left to achieve this goal.

Our joint manifesto sets out the bold, targeted action needed to make this a reality. We are extremely grateful to both National AIDS Trust and Terrence Higgins Trust for their collaboration and shared ambition and in particular for Terrence Higgins Trust for collating everything and taking on all the design elements.

Now, we need your help to ensure this call is heard. Please support us in raising awareness and engaging with decision-makers so that ending HIV transmission in Wales becomes a national priority.
